| Introduction | Like so many, it all started with a poster of a Countach back in elementary school...and look how far it's come! (don’t tell Feruccio, but I quickly converted to Ferrari) No other way to put it – I’m a huge car geek. Now don’t get me wrong, car shows are great (I haven’t missed a Tutto Italiano show at Larz Anderson in over 10 years), but cars are living things, made to be driven, worked on, and polished…sometimes excessively so. OK, often excessively so. As for all that driving, I got my start in with autocross 3 years ago with the BMW CCA Boston Chapter. I was hooked before I even apexed the first turn. Hell, in 3 years of autocross, I missed my first event this June! And the driving’s been going well, thanks for asking. 2008 Rookie of the Year and I’ve been an instructor for the last 2 years. Then last fall I added HPDE/track to the mix, and I’m already approaching junkie status (read: skimping on dinner to save up for a new set of tires). || My ride: 2008 BMW 135i || My dream: a 12-cylinder Ferrari, still undecided between classic (275 GTB/4 or 512TR) or modern (F50) || Realistically: a dedicated track car, probably an M3 |
