IntroductionOne is humbled upon completing a triathlon. After two days rest, as the pain subsides, you're bound to yearn for more! It happened to me in 2007 when I completed my first Olympic Distance race, finishing dead last. According to Wikipedia, a triathlon is an endurance sports event consisting of swimming, cycling and running over various distances. Sprint distance triathlons usually comprise of a 400-500m swim, followed by 15-20km cycle, and 2-3km run. Olympic distance events begin with a 1500m swim, 40km cycle, ends with a 10km run. The big one is the Ironman triathlon, which covers a soaking 3.8km swim, numbing 180km cycle, and a whopping 42km marathon to top up the day! If that does not bring you down to your knees, nothing will. This blog is dedicated to the weekend warriors - men & women (and kids) who have a day job (school/college) and family to manage, yet find the time to focus and indulge in the swim-cycle-run delicacy.
