| Introduction | Originally from the UK, I graduated with a degree in Fine Art and spent subsequent years living and working in Spain, the UK, Hong Kong and before arriving in the city state of Singapore in 2001. Living in Asia has given me some fantastic creative opportunities. One of the first things I did when I arrived here was to do a batik painting workshop. After a trip to Japan I fell in love with papermaking and started making my own paper. I discovered the world of printmaking at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute through attending numerous workshops. I completed a certificate course in printmaking from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts 2007 and now consider printmaking the main media in my art practice. Inspiration for my work comes from a wide variety of sources, much of it inspired by the landscape I find myself in. I am a keen diver and the marine environment gives me many ideas. My recent artwork reflects my interest in the human desire to interact with, interpret and make a mark on the natural landscape. My work has been exhibited locally at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute, Singapore Art@Wessex and The Substation. |
