| Introduction | Originally, I used this blog to keep my sisters apprised of our parents health issues. Mom and Daddy are my neighbors, but my sisters live in 3 different states: one on the either coast, and one in the central US. As our parents' health issues are no longer urgent, this blog is more about my family and my current favorite hobby - CROCHET. retcgr means Retired Coast Guard Reserve. At 26 years, after a regular tour and several subsequent years as a reservist on active duty, I called it quits and retired. Reserve retirees don't collect a pension until they're 62, so I continued working for a while as a government contract employee. That really wasn't any fun, so I gave it up too. Now, as I like to say, I waste my time and spend my husband's money! Hey, the kids are grown, the IRA and TSP are doing well, a small real estate investment/sale netted me more than I could make as a contract employee in 4 years. Why not relax a while and enjoy life?
