Introduction I picked up the moniker "Joyce the Voice" while playing in San Diego bar bands, singing most anything from Asia to Zeppelin back when they were topping the charts. I started off in an acoustic duet with Toby LeFlang in "Some Friends", then graduated quickly to rock 'n' roll with "Misfit" and "Thumper" and "The Press" etc. Classic rock still remains my favorite for the energy and the way folks love to get out and dance and have a great time with it; but I also sang blues/rock for six years with "The Earthmovers", including half a dozen gigs at the San Diego House of Blues. Currently, The California Cogs, billed as THE Rotary Club band, is my venue, singing rock for charity events and private parties all over San Diego County. Over the years, I've written a few songs, too, some of which got played on stage. Photography is another interest-du-jour. That and my writing led me to publish my book Whispers... on blurb.com. Look it up -- it's only $2.99 for the e-version! Otherwise, I stay busy reading, working my way to retirement, and enjoying the grandkids and my friends. Life in San Diego might be rough, but someone's gotta live it! ;-)
