Introduction I've lived and cooked in the Pacific Northwest for 21 years. After moving from Manhattan island to Lummi Island, Washington, I learned that the best eggs, milk, fish and fruit don't come from the supermarket. Since then I've been cooking and eating locally from Seattle to the Wallowa Valley of eastern Oregon where I now live with my family. My mission is to teach people to cook with the seasons, from what's available and plentiful. Writing is my main focus and I contribute articles and recipes to newspapers, magazines and websites. I am also writing my first cookbook, Pure Beef: An Essential Guide to Artisan Meat with Recipes for Every Cut to be published by Running Press in May 2012.
