| Introduction | Janice Hume is a professor in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Georgia. She teaches magazine writing, magazine management and media history. She is co-author of "Journalism in a Culture of Grief" and author of "Obituaries in American Culture." She has also published numerous articles on the history of American journalism. A former newspaper editor and reporter, she holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. |
