About me

Introduction I am a stay-at-home mom who at 40 found my true calling, besides being a Mom. I was put under a SPELL while volunteering in my children's elementary school library. I have loved every minute spent in that library helping shelve, read, and suggesting books and other materials to the PreK-5 students. I love seeing the students' eyes light up by a book or while talking about a book. The power a librarian has to help find and enhance a child's imagination or assist in providing or enriching a child's knowledge through a book is awe-inspiring. I knew then a School Librarian was exactly what I wanted to be! So, I have restarted my professional life by returning back to school to get my Masters in School Library Media at Longwood University. I have enjoyed my school experience, even after 20 years since my last degree. I keep thinking to myself, each class puts me one step closer to my own classroom library and I can not wait. I would like to dedicate this blog to my inspiration for going back to school and helping me find my calling - Mrs. Hunt, Greenfield Elementary School Librarian. Without her and her beautiful library, I would not be where I am today. Thank you Mrs. Hunt!
