|Introduction||I've been employed by the Isle of Rum Community Trust since 2009 and am responsible for making sure that all who come to Rum get the most out of their visit.I do various things from delivering the interpretation programme to managing our campsite. As I grew up on the Pitsea marshes in lovely old Essex,I've enjoyed wildlife and the outdoors since a child.I fully admit to being totally crazy about birds, but its not all about our avian friends however as I would consider myself to have a good knowledge of many other animal and plant groups.I am also a passionate believer in environmental education and the importance of outdoor learning experiences.I first came to the island in 2003 to investigate brown rat abundance within the island’s shearwater colonies, and have been involved with the island in one form or another ever since. Oh and before I forget,I should really say that any views (controversial or not, i.e. true) or opinions expressed within this blog are my own, and do not necessarily reflect those of the IRCT.|
