About me

Gender MALE
Occupation Lime mortar repointing
Location Bicester
Introduction I was once a landscape gardener and drystone waller who trained and worked as a garden designer. Not challenged enough I then did a PGCE and worked as a college lecturer teaching a number of subjects including psychology and horticulture. However, I found that I much prefered the outdoor life with the company of my dog Doris so began working on period properties. That was nearly 15 years ago and I'm now pretty good at what I do. I'm happy to work on all aspects of brick and stonework - from a simple garden wall to the main elevation of a Grade One or Two listed building. I don't mind whether I use lime putty or natural hydraulic lime and anyone who uses my service is guaranteed the benefit of all my experience and eye for detail.
Interests I've now been working with lime mortar for well over a decade and can confidently say that I understand it. Over the years I've developed a feel for it and understand the science of mortar to the point where I can produce pieces of work to the standard that any 16th or 17th century craftsman would be proud.
