| Introduction | I am a retired college professor (botanist) who likes to travel. Several years ago my husband and I were planning a trip to Italy and our children suggested we write a blog about our trip so they could keep up with our travels. That's when I set up a blog gaddingaboutwithgrandpat.blogspot.com I came to enjoy blogging and I continued after our trip.I noticed that many of my blogs involved food and cooking, so a friend suggested I write a blog about learning to cook. Learning to cook was one of my goals in retirement. That's how my blog botanistcooks.blogspot.com came to be. These days I seem to be cooking more and gadding about less. Blogging has become a hobby in retirement. Now with the Covid19 keeping me in stay-at-home mode, I have changed the name of my blog to Hanging Out with Grandpat, since I am no longer gadding about. |

The squish of mud between your toes; how would you live your life as a frog?
I would sit on a lily pad in the sun and when it became too hot I would dive into the pond for a nice luxurious cool bath. While on the lily pad I would be on the lookout for some juicy bugs to have for lunch.
