Introduction	I am a retired Foreign Service Officer who grew up in the midwest and just couldn't wait to get out of town. I first found an opportunity to live and work overseas through teaching English as a Foreign language. Those experiences crystalized my desire for a more extended international lifestyle which led me to the US Department of State, my third major career change after a five-year detour into software engineering. I have lived and worked in 12 countries, the source for much of the material I expect to use in this project.
