About me

Occupation Public Arts Graduate Assistants
Location Columbia, Missouri, United States
Introduction My name is Kaitlin Grimes and I am the Curator of Public Arts at the Missouri Student Unions at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. I am also a doctoral candidate in the Art History Program in the School of Visual Studies, focusing largely on ivory sculpture in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Europe. During my years as a graduate student at the University of Missouri, I have worked as a research assistant for various courses dealing with art, architecture, and material culture. As the curator of public arts, I plan to use our exhibition spaces to educate, inspire and delight the students, staff, faculty of the University of Missouri and visitors to our campus. Our wonderful assortment of fine art and historical objects offer a myriad of opportunities for fascinating exhibitions. I also want to foster an environment that furthers the awareness of, accessibility to, participation in, and support for the importance of the arts for the University of Missouri community.
