| Introduction | Carmela A. Geer is by profession, an Educator and Advocate of twenty four years and a Consultant and Trainer for the past eighteen. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Edward King House Senior Center in Newport, RI. A resident of Middletown, RI, she is connected to her community by her involvement in various town wide organizations and initiatives. Her three boys, Devin (age 25), Anthony (age 20), Liam (age 14) and her husband, Brian, are her inspiration as an educator and advocate, keeping her grounded to what the needs of active seniors, children and families are in the 21st century. She travels extensively throughout Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts, as a public speaker, spreading the "good word" with regards to developmentally appropriate practice, professionalism and surviving parenthood and aging. |
