| Introduction | I'm a full time student at a four-year college with a diagnosis of bipolar. I also work full time in psychiatric hospitals, the ER, and a medical surgical unit. I started this blog as a personal outlet to vent the turbulent emotions that comes with not only going to school full time, working full time, but also treating bipolar disorder. However, oddly, it’s also helping me to reach out to other young women my age- who are also coming to terms with their diagnosis- and who are in the college and university system. It’s hard, and it’s difficult, and sometimes you just want to quit. I've learned that having this diagnosis in school can be a special blessing in disguise if you decide to stop fighting it: and embrace it. It doesn’t me that you can’t accomplish your dreams and succeed in school. Keep your heads up girls: cause if I can do it- I know you can. |
| Interests | Working at the hospital (in the ER and on a Medical Surgical unit), the loves of my life (my three dogs), singing on the top of my lungs in the car and in the shower, dancing in my underwear, remembering to take my medications, knitting (all the cool kids are doing it), baking cakes- and attempting to graduate from college- even with bipolar. Maybe they call it the "brilliant madness" for a reason... |
