About me

Introduction I spent the formative years of my life as a devout Christian Fundamentalist. When I say Fundamentalist, I am not referring to your average run-of-the-mill bible thumper. I was a die-hard, rapture ready, speaking in tongues, holy-ghost filled, true believer. Every week was likely to be my last on this earth, as the rapture was certain to happen quite soon as evidenced by the "Signs of the Times" all around us. Each day I expected to see the Anti-Christ reveal himself and begin to unite the world. I was also taught to believe that my church (non-denominational, but based largely on UPC (United Pentacostal Church beliefs) was the truth and all other churches and religions were wrong at best and complicit with the devil at worst. Those where truly the good times of my life. Who wouldn't be excited about spending three days a week at church and three day fasts leading up to Resurrection Day (Easter)? True fundamentalism must maintain a persistent fervor among the faithful, otherwise they might have time for independent thought. Independent thought, by the way, is the greatest threat to fundamentalist religions or any religions for that matter.
