| Introduction | My name is Ms. Reese, and I'm excited to share my blog and student's work with you! Here is a little about my teaching ideas and philosophy. I like to think of Art as a bridge that connects all disciplines together. In my classroom students explore, imagine and create as they engage in the learning process. I have discovered that when learning becomes meaningful to children and they are truly interested and engaged, the classroom environment is exceptional. As an art teacher, I have discovered some teaching strategies that work well in my classroom. One strategy I use to engage learners is to use not only visual cues, but also aural, tactile and kinesthetic. In addition, teaching across the curriculum enables my students to make connections and build upon skills for a more holisitic approach to learning. I have discovered that students love it when I incorporate language arts, math and science elements into my art lessons. When the arts are connected to other areas of interest, this allows for transfer of learning. I keep these thoughts in mind when creating meaningful lessons for my students. |
