| Introduction | In the early 80's I started working in TV as an television engineer and later satellite coordinator. For the past 10 years, I’ve worked at Hudson Valley Community College, as the Coordinator for the Instructional Technologies Department. This department provides academic support for three related media areas: multimedia equipment support (planning, installation, maintenance, replacement and training for 150+ fully installed classrooms and presentation areas); TV production of education, instruction and training programs (for internal and external clients); and ITV distance learning, via fiber optic paths to several local high schools, Ku-band satellite transmission and ISDN and TCP/IP videoconferencing. We operate 4 state of the art D.L. videoconference classrooms and have additional mobil videoconferencing equipment to for use in two television studios or virtually any other room on campus. All of the College's multimedia and video technical assets are together within one department. This allows tha ability to build projects with the all of the necessary equipment and services available from one department (with one contact point). |
