Introduction	UP POLITICA was founded in December 3, 1993 by 20 Political Science majors. It was established originally to provide an alternative organization, which will pursue Political Science as an independent discipline. At the onset, UP POLITICA became an active participant in the world of UP organizations. It organized many different programs and projects to realize its objectives and goals. In 1994, however, as most of the founding members graduated, UP POLITICA became a silent organization. Its lack of stable and broad membership caused it to somehow weaken. In 1996, a new recruitment was initiated. A batch of fresh and enthusiastic applicants dared to join the organization and summon it from its long sleep. Then came 1997, the organization was brought back to life, this time with more vigor. As more members were brought into the organization, UP POLITICA became more active in the college. With the phoenix as a symbol of the organization’s enduring zeal to uphold social justice and democracy, UP POLITICA continues to soar to greater heights. From ashes, to life and beyond, the POWER that be!
