About me

Location Sydney, Australia
Introduction My eldest techno child, a Canon EOS 300D, stopped working while I was travelling in San Fran in 2006. It needed a new shutter unit as the original one had completely (and mysteriously) buckled. I travelled up the west coast for another few weeks, sans the ability to take photos of the incredible things I was seeing. After this period of heartbreak I finally bought a new camera in Seattle. Being cash strapped I couldn't afford another digital SLR, so I became a fully fledged film photographer again. I had to ration film and think carefully about whether a shot was really worth taking. Even after my reunion with my repaired DSLR (and the rest of my ever-growing camera collection) I try to maintain that very philosophy in my photography practice.
