| Introduction | Welcome to the teaching portfolio of Ms. Michelle Hobbs, "Teacher Extraordinaire!" Teachers always encourage students to set goals and dream big, and it is my hope that by naming my portfolio thusly, that I will continue to grow and develop into the best teacher I am capable of being! I am a Reading Specialist Teacher who is also currently in the process of getting my Masters of Education, with a specialization in the field of Literacy. In addition, as I value whole child development, I've spent a lot of time persuing professional development opportunities in the area of Social Emotional learning. I believe greatly in the need to provide engaging learning opportunities and to facilitate the best learning environment for all learners, which starts at good planning, continues into professional development and being a reflective practitioner. My passion and drive lead me to trying to be the best educator I am capable of being, for the sake of my students. I am also always encouraging my students to do their best and to challenge themselves in appropriate ways as they learn and grow, and likewise, I do my best to be a role model of what that looks like in practice. |
