| Introduction | Recently we got together and came up with a kaupapa statement (loosely translated to mean strategy or theme). The vision statement is at the top of this blog page, and expands to our mission statment which reads: We aim to establish a space which is empowering for those involved, while being transparent, approachable and inclusive to the wider community. Events we host aim to be free of all forms of oppression, domination and discrimination to ensure that all those who wish to be involved feel safe and supported to do so. Through our events we provide practical information with skill sharing, direct-participation and DIY to empower those involved and foster mutual aid. We aim to operate in a bottom up, action-based way which supports marginalised peoples and meets needs rather than wants. Our collective is non-hierarchical with decisions being made via consensus. We place great value in clear communication and are open to feedback and the involvement of others. |
