About me

Occupation Retired
Location New Haven, CT, United States
Introduction I have an abiding interest in policies affecting the political, economic and societal environment in which we live. I have strong interests in global warming, electoral reform, and related issues. It is particularly important to act to overcome the bitter political stalemate that immobilizes the federal government on issue after issue. -- I enjoy many activities including nature and outdoor activities - hiking, skiing, tennis, canoeing/kayaking; and arts and culture - music, esp. chamber music and jazz; theater, modern dance performances, art museums, modern architecture, creating art works in painting and drawing classes. -- Until I retired in 2010, I had a solo practice as a patent agent for 8 years. Prior experience as a patent agent included both corporate and law firm positions, as well as serving as patent examiner. -- I’m a seasoned scientist with many years in research and development both in the biotechnology industry, and earlier, as a medical school faculty member. I graduated Magna cum Laude in Chemistry from Princeton. I received my Ph.D. from Harvard, and was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science and Cornell.
