| Introduction | I battled my weight my entire life but did not become morbidly obese until I became bed ridden with Fibromyalgia. Between the steroids for my disease, the lack of movement and eating anything not nailed down, I grew to a size where I was splitting the seams on my 4x elastic granny jeans and was uncomfortable/ embarrassed going out in public. I thought my life was over. Until I was put on a miracle drug and was no longer bed ridden ... only problem, I had ballooned to 332 pounds and my liver was in serious trouble. Dr Korous at Penn Pres in Phila saved my life. He took me on as a patient even though I was technically too large and not mobile enough to expect a good outcome. His theory was I WOULD die without the surgery, so the surgery could only improve those odds. I am forever grateful. A few facts about me: I love me some Chihuahuas and have rescued many ... I always give TMI ... I have Fibromyalgia and Polymyaliga ... I'm often inappropriate in the things I say ... I get cranky from being in pain ... I am a shoe addict ... I not only have CRS but can forget a conversation we had 5 minutes ago (PLEASE bare with me on that, I know it's annoying). |
