Introduction I am on the quest for finding balance in my life. I want to learn to nuture myself as much as I do everyone else. I have struggled with weight for about fifteen years now (almost half of my life). I am full of life, and I want my life to be full. Sometimes I admit it is TOO full, which definitely places me on the back burner. I have lots to say about everything, so this blog is about me "weighing" in, both literally and figuratively.
Interests Hmmm...I have so many! I love to be outside in all weather! I have some new interests which include horseback riding and learning to drive a motorcycle. I love to read. I love nature. I love to travel. I love to cook. I love to be interested in life.
Favorite Movies Gone With The Wind, Godfather (the first is my fav), Star Wars (like the old movies better), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Shining (love those crazy writers), E.T. (probably my favorite childhood flick), Jaws (the original), American Graffiti, The Graduate, Goodfellas, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, O Brother Where Art Thou, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (I actually like the old one and the Depp version), Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Romeo and Juliet (Zeffirelli), Lord of the Rings, Memento, Bully, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, The Matrix (again, I like the first one), Pirates of the Caribbean (like 'em all, but I have a cool story about seeing the first one!!), fight club, american history x, million dollar baby, monty python the holy grail, fargo, team america, the green mile, princess bride, sixth sense, gladiator, stand by me, groundhog day, the big lebowski, snatch, lock stock and two smoking barrels, walk the line, the accused, scarface, and more...that doesn't even start the list for animated movies, SIGH. Favorite musicals: Grease, Guys and Dolls, Pirates of Penzance, Chicago, The King and I, Paint Your Wagon, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Westside Story, and Oklahoma.
Favorite Music Music matches my mood. I listen to just about everything, just not a huge hip hop (too much about the wang wang in the bootie junk) or rap fan (mostly because I feel like they are singing in a foreign language), although I do listen to and appreciate "old school" rap (coolio, beastie boys, tupac). Country occasionally plays out of the stereo, some of the new (which really is more rock), and I like the old, too, thanks to my daddy (Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys!). I listen to classical (tchaikovsky, my fav) and blue grass (union station). Love jazz (give me some Ella) yup, it's a rather eclectic collection.
Favorite Books This list is crazy and I cannot even begin to type it out in specific. I do believe that a person should read as many books a year as how old s/he is! That is my goal each year, and I always surpass it!! I need to shout out to my daddy for sharing with me, at such a young age, the love of reading. I read just about everything. Not a huge fan of science and horror fiction (I detest romance, smutty kind), but I have read some of those staples. I prefer fiction (mystery and historical) and biographies. Non-fiction works for me, too, because i like to learn new stuff. love the classics, always working on that list. I started my first ever book group this past spring, and I am totally STOKED about this experience. We have a diverse group of readers, so we are all expanding our reading horizons!!

You've been invited to a fancy ball but the only thing you have to wear is an orange wooly jumper. What shoes do you wear?

You go barefoot :)
