| Introduction | Hi! Welcome to my journey and thanks for taking the time. I cycled away from my home in Eastbourne in the South East of the UK in February 2010 aged 22 with the vague (though lengthily planned) ambition of cycling around the world. In April 2011 I rolled back up to my front door 2 years older, a couple of kilos lighter, and 8,113 miles, 23 countries and 10,000 photos richer. Here you'll find my entire blog from planning to return, with as much of what happened in those 14 months as I was able to get into words - from the terrifying emotions of leaving home to the terrifying (and illegal) ride across the bridge linking Europe and Asia; from being attacked by wild dogs in Turkey to attending the Dalai Lama's 75th birthday party in the Himalayas; from the search for a jailed friend in Iran to finding friends for life in India. |
