Introduction Food lover. I have worked in the biz; for most of my adult life. Food is a huge part of my life. And I certainly don't think I'm alone in this. Honestly, just about every social interaction we participate in includes food; from weddings, to funerals, from dating to family dinners. Cooking for one to one hundred. A labour of love or a mind draining chore. Food and how we relate to it has so many facets. Live to eat or eat to live. At different stages of our life we approach food in different ways. For many of us there is a huge amount of emotional content to the act of eating, the rituals of preparation and the truth of what the food we put in our mouths symbolizes. However, I have no intention of focusing this blog on weight issues, eating disorders, the politics of food, food production or even the disparity between Western mass consumption and the starvation of children in developing countries. Rather I wish to invite people to share the emotional stories of their lives where food played a central role, or at least, figures prominently in the remembrance of the events. So please, pull up a chair, grab your favourite beverage and tell me your story.
