Introduction	I was born in a lifeboat off the coast of Costa Rica, I was born in a storm under an orange tarp. When the trainee nurse held me up in front of fifteen cold wet survivors and said, 'It's a boy!' everyone had at least one thing to be happy about. I was named after one of the people who died. A selfless man who gave up his seat in the lifeboat for my mother. My name is spelled with two n's because we only knew his second name. Mr. Dann. Despite attempts to track down his family, or any more information about him, we never have. Perhaps he was alone in the world, perhaps he was using a fake name. Sometimes my mother thinks that he was an angel. We were rescued 26 hours later and Doctors said it was a miracle I survived.
