| Introduction | I'm a native Virginian, and as our state motto suggests, I'm a lover. Though, I'm also a fighter; a lover of the world's incredible cultures, and a fighter for protecting them. I teach English as a second language and introductory linguistics courses at Old Dominion University. I am continually inspired by the potential that language classrooms have to be models of mutual respect—crossing political, cultural, and religious boundaries. I believe my life has been enriched by the students I've had the privilege of meeting. |
| Interests | My academic interests are focused on critical language pedagogy, critical discourse analysis, and anthropological linguistics. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my Pitbull Pabst and Rottweiler Bella, taking road trips with my husband John, and researching all things language. |
