Some of Proto Restoration Construction's past projects include restoring 35 high rise structures in the Bronx's Co-Op City, the world's largest cooperative housing development, and restructuring six buildings in Dayton Beach, a project that involved replacing more than 500,000 bricks with minimal disturbance to the occupants. The company has also managed more specialized projects, such as repairing detailed brick work and terracotta designs on the historic Hotel McAlpin building in Midtown Manhattan. In 1993, Proto Restoration Construction accepted the task of refurbishing the famous Unisphere for the city of New York and, despite significant setbacks, completed the project on time. The Chamber of Commerce of the Borough of Queens then honored the company for its Excellence in Construction. |
