| Introduction | Seattle has a long history in providing International Development support, with regards to Global Health, Education, Disaster Relief and related technical assistance and capacity building. Now twith the Gates Foundation, Seattle has become known as a key location for our cause and home to many organizations that support it. A perfect place for the Society for International Development to start a new chapter. Our first meeting was in September 2012, and our first big event will be coming up soon. We hope you find, as each of us has, the kind of people you’d want to work with in the field of International Development. People willing to learn and share, to discuss and discover better ways to reach sustainability goals, willing to try innovative solutions and most of all, to eliminate the silos that can so easily prevent a program from being successful for the communities it was supposed to serve. We hope you will come to a meeting, find what you are looking for in our collaborative organization, become a member, and support International Development with the skills you bring with you and develop along the way. |
