| Introduction | Several talented students at South Plantation High School have built a fully functional solar-powered car, Solar Knight III. Our team won first in the Advance Division at the Winston Solar Car Challenge during the summer of 2011 in a race around the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas, Texas! We are the only solar car team in Florida, including high schools and universities! This year our plan is to retake our national title in the advance division of the Solar Car Challenge. We are repairing Solar Knight III to make it even stronger for this year’s race. All of these projects are extremely time consuming and need some major funding to complete them. Our budget estimate is around $35,000 and we are looking for some corporate sponsors for our upcoming race this summer. |
