| Introduction | My wife and I were given notice that I would likely lose my job. We saw this unfortunate event as an opportunity embark on a global walkabout. Do we really believe that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God? |
| Interests | “Life is in Tents” Mission: To pursue knowing God and being known by him through his word, other people and nature. Vision: To be navigated daily by the Spirit. Being intentional about being salt and light. To rely on God’s promise that he will complete what he begun in us. To learn to be good stewards of the time and money entrusted to us. To be logged on with Him in a constant song of prayer, as we walk, serve, love, work and talk- in all our actions, words and deeds that we would bring glory to God. 1) Hunger and Thirst for Him a. God will pour water on those who hunger and thirst for him. b. Matt 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.” 2) Trust in God a. He will be with me and bless me. b. Philippians 1:6 “…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 3) Live in Tents a. This place is not our home. Where is death’s sting? b. Hebrews 11:9 “By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country, he lived in tents….For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” 4) Cast out Idols, Silence a. Shed things that are a distraction from God that prevents the Spirit from dwelling in me. b. Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God. 5) Serve Others a. God 1st others 2nd. b. Philippians 2:3-4 “ Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vein conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should not only look out for your own interests, but also to the interest of others.” 6) Be Present a. Fully there before God and others b. John 11:35 “Jesus wept.” (He heard, saw and wept.) |
