About me

Location Toronto, ON
Introduction Patricia currently practices Landscape Architecture in Toronto where she focuses on public and cultural landscape projects. She is concerned with combating the homogenized and commercialized environments that characterize the North American existence and advocates thoughtful landscape gestures as psychological rehabilitation. She draws from expansive creative roots that include textile construction, film-making, sculptural fabrication and cultural writing. Collectively, these give her a strong technical vocabulary that allow her to harness the physical and environmental attributes of a site in order to construct a cultural narrative that is easily interpreted by the general public. She is currently working on a community driven project to transform an orphaned hydro corridor into an educational, working production park that demonstrates alternative energies. Ms. Sharpe received her Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto after receiving undergraduate degrees in Film & Fine Art from Ryerson & the University of Toronto, and in Cultural Studies from Trent University.
