Introduction My love of crafting and the desire to create stems from my childhood. Both of my grandmothers were very talented needle crafters. I treasured time shared with each while they taught me how to crewel, embroider, needlepoint and cross stitch. Quietly they would inspect my stitches - turning pieces over to make sure the backs looked as good as the fronts. It started as time shared, and always ends (I lie, almost always ends...) with the thrill of seeing a piece come together in its completed state. These interests led my way to hooking rugs, counted cross stitch and away from the needle to painting, quilling, beading and much, much later back to the needle with knitting and a tiny bit of crochet. How I wish my grandmothers were alive to see my knit pieces and share their knowledge! With this blog I hope to encourage others down the bunny hole of crafting as I travel through our library shelves exploring the world of crafts within.
