Introduction	Daisy Dawes is a model maker and writer based in England. She enjoys creating new worlds and populating them with a host of weird and wonderful characters. Daisy has worked as a model maker on productions such as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for Warner Bros, Pingu for Hot Animation and Rex the Runt for Aardman Animation. Daisy's first children's book, Get Ahead Fred, was published in 2010. Since then Daisy has enjoyed meeting lots of children all over the UK, making hats and leading many other arts and crafts workshops in schools, libraries and bookshops. Daisy was asked by Waterstones Liverpool Bold Street to be their first Resident Children's Author for 2010/11. Daisy is inspired to create beautiful and entertaining words and pictures by the likes of Jim Henson, Bud Luckey, Tim Burton, Cicely Mary Barker and Dr Seuss.
