| Introduction | I'm a crazy, compulsive, constant reader. I read very quickly, mostly through long practice! My favorite kinds of books (in rough order of what I'm most likely to be reading these days) are Young Adult Fantasy and Science Fiction, Young Adult, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Kids' Picture Books, Kids' Chapter Books, Kids' NonFiction, Fiction, Food Writing, Gardening, Mystery, Science, Ecology, History, African American Studies, BGLT. I'm fond of Young Adult novels because they pack a real emotional punch and I can read them in one big gulp. I'm a long-time science fiction and fantasy fan -- everything from hard SF to magical adventure novels, but a feminist or ecological slant is especially sure to please. I like kids' books because I like kids. And I like funny books -- books that tickle my sense of the absurd and make me laugh out loud. |
