| Introduction | My name is Jennifer Klinger, and I am really excited to be the S.P.O.T.L.I.G.H.T. teacher responsible for teaching 5th grade intellectually gifted students at DeSoto Central Elementary. I was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Southaven, MS. Because of my wonderful experience as a student in DeSoto County Schools, I chose to become a teacher. I have been teaching at DeSoto Central Elementary since the doors first opened in 1999. I have been married to Matt Klinger for 7 years. We have a twelve year old yellow Lab, named Shelby. In S.P.O.T.L.I.G.H.T. we will explore thematic units in which we will incorporate the areas of gifted education. These elements include creativity, communication, research, thinking skills, leadership with group dynamics, social and emotional development, and performing arts.
