Introduction	Michael Copeland founded Rock Costa Rica after falling in love with the Lake Arenal area and moving there from Northern California’s Bay Area. He developed a deep affection and respect for the Tico people and for the Costa Rican philosophy of pura vida (“the pure life”) – a philosophy characterized by strong community spirit, perseverance, resilience in overcoming difficulties, enjoying life slowly and celebrating good fortune. Michael launched his business as a way to help others who, like him, wanted to bask in the beauty of the land and the warmth of its people while pursuing their dreams. Michael is currently spending most of his time in in the day-to-day operations of Rock Costa Rica, and is happy to share his knowledge of Costa Rica’s ways, construction practices and business standards.
