| Introduction | Heru-Ur Nekhet is one of the most dynamic self-defense instructors in America. As soon as he could walk, his father, who was proficient in Aikido, Judo and Karate, began teaching him only the practical applications to these arts. In 1991, Nekhet began training under Mfundishi (Grand Master) Hassan K. Salim in Kupigana Ngumi African martial arts. Nekhet has trained in small villages with warriors from Gambia, Senegal and Ghana. Nekhet has also trainined with modern combatants such as military special operatives, and others who offer real world experience. Nekhet has researched and studied the art and science of combat as it relates to the modern environment and technology. Nekhet has put his research and experience together to create a highly effective, simply applied system of self-defense based upon instinctive movements. In recognition for his innovations in the martial arts, Nekhet was elevated to the level of Malenga (mental, physical & spiritual master) by the Kupigana Ngumi Pan African Federation in August 2000. |
