| Introduction | We retired in 1998 setting off in our motorhome to tour the USA. Meeting some folks that told us about their volunteer experiences banding wild owls in Oregon, we decided to give volunteering on public lands a try. We are now on the road providing volunteer service to America about 8 months a year. In the spring of 2007, we received the PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD, a national honor offered in recognition of volunteer service to those who have demonstrated exemplary citizenship through volunteering on public lands. To date, Steve and Jan have accumulated over 14,000 hours of volunteer service to America. |
