| Introduction | I started cycling when is was around 3 years old. Since then I had several bikes and a lot of experience riding bikes in various places. For example, I used to cycle to school when I was a child (~8km roundtrip). Now I don't live in the countryside anymore, but in a metropolis (in Vienna, Central Europe) and also commute by bike - everywhere and anytime. And I really love it ;-).. My current bicycles are an old Kaestle MTB and the Retrovelo Paula.. Although I quit that type of work, I have a degree in civil engineering and also some background in traffic planning. I guess that's why I sometimes have a different (and more critical) point of view concerning bicycle infrastructure and transportation in general. _____ Btw, I'm also a co-blogger on Austria's bike culture blog velosphie.at (in German). |
