| Introduction | My first career as a musician has been on the back burner lately. Kind of ironic, really, considering I just finished up my Master's Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas in August 2002. Starting in February 2003, I spent 18 months in Haifa, Israel as a volunteer at the Baha'i World Centre - an amazing experience and a truly fantastic chance for personal development. I met my lovely wife Penina there and we decided to move to New Zealand - clean and green, if not a bit on the cool side. I have now been pursuing a second career area - Telecommunications. I really enjoying thinking about the possibilities in the convergence of Information and Communication Technologies. I find that there are many parallels to music in the technology of today: order, discipline, creativity, etc. - it's a beautiful thing! Meanwhile, I have been able to remain pretty active in music in New Zealand - recording and performing live in a wide variety of genres as well as teaching privately and directing my own big band - the Liberty Jazz Band. |
