| Introduction | This is of course Charlie. Charlie is 6 years old now. Charlie was diagnosed with TSC. For those who do not know, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. It is a genetic disorder. Each child is different. In Charlie's case he has a mild to moderate level of TSC. He has inumerable tubers in his brain. No, they are not tumors. Tumors normally just sit on the surface of an organ. Tubers have what they call roots. When he was a fetus, the grew with him. In order to remove just one, they have to remove the area of the brain as well. Charlie has developmental delay. He will one day talk, but his full potential will be that of a 7 to 10 year old child. |
