| Introduction | I'm a prairie girl, born and raised, but the ocean has always been my true home. I'm happy in the water, around the water, on the water. Pretty much anywhere in sight of the water, really. My interest in sailing dinghies on lakes at home as a teenager escalated to sailing of tall ships when I flew myself halfway around the world at the tender age of 21 to do my first proper sailing trip. That foray out into the world also sparked my love of travel. And created a monster. I now travel whenever and wherever I can, usually planned around some form of sailing trip or cruise. Dance is my other big passion. I took classes as a small child and absolutely hated them. As a teenager I realized that I couldn't hear music without moving to it (though I was sorely lacking in training), and couldn't wait until I was an adult so I could start taking adult beginner classes. When I was 18, I took my first ballet classes, fell in love with it, expanded my training to include several other styles of dance, and went so far as to audition for and enter into a Cecchetti ballet teacher training program. I am now qualified to teach kids and I regularly substitute for others, teaching all ages. |
