Introduction | I'm a former professor of philosophy and social justice now in early retirement due to chronic illness. I've gone from homesteading as a child with my hippie parents, to living in tract houses in the suburbs during grad school and my career, to an off the grid homestead in the arid Southwest, and then to a falling down farmhouse in the far reaches of the Northeast. In the fall of 2015, my husband and I left Maine to live in our rv and traveled throughout the Southwest for eight months. We're now re-settled in an off-the-grid house outside of Taos, NM. This blog is a collection of my reflections on the meaning of life and how to live it, as well as the story about my personal journey from a stressed out life in the suburbs, academia, and the upper middle class, to a much mellower, happier, and simpler place. Thanks for dropping by! |
