| Introduction | Music nerd, bird nerd and just general all-around nerd; I'm a life-long music lover and formerly a performer in the Bend and Portland areas. I have performed as a bass/baritone with the Portland Symphonic Choir and Bach Cantata Choir, as a keyboardist with Classical Revolution PDX, as vocalist for the (extremely) short-lived punk/funk band Cheez Hwiz, and principal percussionist for the Central Oregon Symphony among other engagements throughout my musical career. I write primarily for Oregon ArtsWatch, and other outlets I have written for include the Hollywood Star, Oregon Music News, Willamette Week, Primer Magazine and Classical Voice North America. I am the Field Notes Editor for Oregon Birds Magazine, board member of the Oregon Birding Association, and I had the Clackamas County Big Year in 2022 with 187 species. I live in Milwaukie with my wife Kristin Sterling and our two dogs Django and Pugsley. |
