| Introduction | Meet Yr Idols is a new project about meeting our heroes. More specifically, the project seeks to collect true stories of interactions with people we respect and admire within a subcultural, "alternative," or politically radical context. In short, these are stories about shaking hands with counter-heroes. From DIY musicians to prolific authors or poets, unsung community activists and rebel artists--these are people we have put on a pedestal because of the impact their work has had on our lives, outside the restrictive confines of dominant culture.
