Introduction | My passions lie most strongly with development work and community service. I have always found myself working with children and youth in all of the NGOs I have worked with and so have become immensely passionate about youth development in particular. I am embarking on this epic journey before I leave to commence my Masters degree in African Studies at Oxford University. My journey from Cape Town to Cairo with my father was inspired by ‘the love of travel.’ However we decided that it was also a wonderful opportunity to draw attention to the development needs of our local community and raise money towards a local NGO that we really believed was making a big impact on our community. I have been volunteering with the Earthchild Project since the end of 2009 and have been working with them full time since January 2011.Since I have worked with this NGO for some time I am certain that all funds raised will go towards meaningful empowerment. My goal is to inspire people to become involved in youth development initiatives and to provide a channel for people to actively support the Earthchild Project. |
