Introduction | I find myself living on a small organic farm in Brownfield,Maine nestled in the western foothills of Maine. I am engaged in organic farming, raising fiber animals and wet felting hats, mittens, scarfs and handbags. My current artistic endeavor allows me to make a living at being a Garden Designer.I grow organic seedlings for commercial and residential accounts that I care for from April through the Holiday season. We use the manures from our animals to make healthy compost that we put on our gardens to grow our seedlings, we then sell these plants to our gardening accounts & take care of them throughout the growing season. Finally I use the spent flowers for obtaining natural colors to dye the wool before the flowers go back to the compost pile. I am also very fortunate to have a pottery/fiber studio to be creative in either by myself or with others looking to explore the wonders of fiber and natural plant dyeing. Life and work are a full circle.I love my job and I love my life!! |
